I am looking forward to starting a career in the Information Technology field with a focus on software, hardware and system support. I enjoy challenges and
find it full filling when completing a difficult task. Throughout my time in the military I have learned how to think "outside" the box to come up with
solutions. I enjoy working with others and have held a multitude of additional duty assignments in which I was mentor and student and have found that I can
always learn something from everyone. I believe in doing things right the first time while being thorough. I refuse to take shortcuts that can lead to further
problems or partial solutions and while doing so I present myself as a professional. I'm a quick learner and realize that no one can know everything
and I learn something new every day. I'm resourceful and not afraid to ask questions if something arises that I have not encountered before.
I have completed twenty years of military service and was honorably discharged from the United States Army on October 2011. Although I enlisted in the Army as a Track Vehicle Mechanic (63Y later reclassed to 63H), I have held various additional duty assignments that were outside the scope of my job specialty.
I was a Communications Non Commissioned Officer for a medical unit for eight months and was the only Communications “Specialist” in the unit. During that time I set up and maintained the Unit's secured radio communication equipment during several training exercises while performing my duties as the tracked vehicle section chief. This also included maintaining the radios in the unit’s vehicles which used an encrypted transmission method. During my second deployment to Iraq our unit lost its entire communication section due to a re-alignment of personnel and I was once again the Communications NCO for another eighteen months.
As well as maintaining the secured radio communication equipment, I also helped to maintain the computer network that utilized a satellite dish to provide internet access so that the Patient reporting software used to track patient care in theatre could be sent to a central data bank. I was one of the night shift supervisors in the units command center and acted for the unit commander during my shift. Part of my duties was to alert medical
personnel about incoming casualties, co-ordinate patient evacuation by helicopter and track patient status until they reached their destination.
Compile reports and brief the unit commander about the status of casualties that were treated at our facility. I was also responsible for tracking the location
and status of all personnel assigned to our unit and coordinating the method of travel to get personnel to their required destination.
Another one of my duties was the Repair and Upkeep NCO for the medical facility and the primary person responsible for emergency repairs and upkeep of the buildings our unit worked out of. This included building walls, furniture, doors and shelving units out of wood and metal. When needed I replaced fuse panel assemblies, replaced and repaired electrical wiring, junction boxes, light fixtures, switches and outlets. If the building was damaged due to enemy actions I was responsible for conducting “Battle Damage Assessments” and initiating immediate repairs.
I have also been the unit supply NCO which is responsible for managing all the equipment assigned to the unit. During the deployment cycle, all vehicles,
weapons and power generation equipment has to go to “reset” and requires the transfer of ownership to the repair facility performing the repairs and
receiving the equipment back upon completion. I reported directly to the commander and handled such things as ordering shortages to get equipment sets
one hundred percent complete. Turn-in excess equipment and receive and distribute new equipment sets, as well as maintain transaction records on unit
equipment, equipment issued to personnel and furniture and office equipment within the unit’s buildings.
I have completed the Electronics and Computer Science course at the Bohlen Technical center in 2013. I am a COMPTIA A+ certified technician and have worked on computers for over 10 years.
I have diversified skill sets and have learned to adapt to new systems and tasks. I look forward to bringing these skills and more to your business and look forward to meeting you in person.
